The Dhammanjarinee Witthaya School in Ratchaburi, Thailand is an all women boarding school that houses over 1000 children coming from at-risk backgrounds—including extreme poverty, abuse, and abandonment. Between kindergarten to 12th grade, the school charges no mandatory fee and all costs are paid for by generous donations. Miss Laruen Kaplan, the special project director of the school, contacted us to support a group of high school students who were interested in STEM, coding and robotics. With our fundraising campaign from Give.asia, we are able to donate three Microbit robotics kits to the children. We are glad to help empower women in STEM.
On August 4th 2022, the AROThailand team visited the Dhamanjaree Wittaya School in Ratchaburi, Thailand to teach them about the parts and how to construct and program the Micro Bit Robotics kits. After the seminar, the students were able to move the robots around and track lines and we hope that they will pursue robotics further. Thank you to all the donors that made this possible.
