OUR STORY
AROThailand started as a small program that introduced basic robotics knowledge to students in grades 4-6 in a local Thai school named Wat Phasuk Maneechak using EV3 Lego Mindstorms. We started off by donating three sets of ev3 Lego Mindstorm kits to the school and taught twelve students once a week for the whole summer of 2019. However, as word spread about AROThailand, more students voiced interest in our program: That's when we decided to expand to more schools and compile our own syllabus to record video lessons that are sent out to the students in each school.
What's New? Summer 2025
On August 14th 2025, the AROThailand team visited our partner Wat Lan Chang school in Ang Thong province, a co-educational school with 39 students from K2 to Year 6, where we donated two new Pop-Bot32i kits. We have been partnered with Wat Lan Chang school since 2021, when we donated Lego Mindstorm and iBit kits to the school, and since then, the students have gone on to compete at regional and national level robotics competitions. This time, we hope the students can explore more of their robotics interest with these new kits. We are proud to be on this journey with the school and be able to support them on their future robotics endeavors! Thank you to Kru Neng and all who made this possible!
Summer 2024
On August 15th 2024, the AROThailand team visited our new partner Wat Pho Ngam school in Lopburi province, a co-educational school consisting of 217 students grades K-9. We donated five iBit kits and taught the basics of MicroBit programming as well as the applications of robotics in various fields to 10 students in grades 8-9 who were eager to learn more about robotics. On August 16th, these students competed in a robotics soccer competition at their annual science fair and we wished them the best of luck. Thank you to Kru Koh and everyone who made this possible!
NEW PROJECT
This summer we have a very exciting project to announce. Using Microbit, we created a custom designed prototype and we will use this prototype to model future robots to send to students at our partner schools. We 3D printed out the pieces using Autodesk Fusion 360 to build the robot and paired it with the Microbit programming language that we have used in previous projects to make an efficiently run Armbot. We have just finished a video course on the first version of the Advanced Microbit Armbot and added it to our variety of courses. In the course we go through each stage of the building process from building to programming to execution. Our goal is to decrease the costs for robot and their courses so that it is accessible to a larger range of students.
